Overview

The Council on Foreign Relations is creating multimedia educational resources as part of its CFR Campus Initiative, which seeks to equip students (college and advanced high school) with the skills, knowledge, and perspective – the global literacy – required to understand the forces, ideas, and institutions that shape the world and how the United States operates in it. These resources include modular learning materials about the fundamentals of international relations and U.S. foreign policy, as well as an array of teaching resources and activities to accompany CFR’s educational content.

 

The Research Associate, Education will work under the direction of the Assistant Director, Education Content to research and draft a growing range of content for CFR’s education projects.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting research on a wide range of international relations and U.S. foreign policy topics;
  • Collaborating to create, edit, and proofread multimedia content;
  • Generating reports, image research, and supporting data for content team;
  • Developing new and relevant ways to present basic international relations topics in a digitally friendly way;
  • Providing administrative support to the Education team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with high academic achievement
  • Broad interest in international relations and U.S. foreign policy
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to conduct internet research.
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth research, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing assignments on tight deadlines
  • One or more year(s) of related work experience in education and teaching, especially at the high school or college level, preferred
