    Reporting to the Circulation Operations Director, Foreign Affairs, the Circulation Operations Associate is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in hands-on experience with all aspects of business operations within a multimedia publication that includes print, digital, advertising, and events departments.

    The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

    • Tracking expenses across the department, including payment of all invoices based on prescribed timelines
    • Evaluating financials for circulation, manufacturing, and distribution to track with the budget, and using financial models to forecast revenues and expenses
    • Organizing the production of each magazine issue by coordinating with the printer, paper supplier, newsstand distributors, editorial, and advertising departments to generate the production schedule, assemble the print order, and monitor distribution
    • Coordinating permissions, contracts, and approvals for licensing of content in other books, websites, and in the classroom


    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. business, marketing, operations) with high academic achievement
    • 1+ years of related experience (e.g. publishing, media, marketing, or a related industry)
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including clear and effective written communication; excellent analytical and quantitative skills
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; results-oriented self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
    • Proven knowledge of and interest in international relations and foreign policy preferred
