Overview

The Event Manager will provide support to the Event Operations team based out of the New York office. This is an on-site role.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Fully support the Harold Pratt House rental management and operations with responding to inquiries, conducting site walkthroughs, client bookings, and client relations.
  • Serve as main point of contact for the venue on the day-of the rental event including working closely with high-level corporate clients. Rental clients are a range of Corporate and Social/Wedding clients and events can take place during business hours, early morning, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Execute day-of event logistics for daily Council in-person, virtual and hybrid events. Responsibilities include overseeing room setups, working closely with catering personnel, making sure audio-visual requirements are met, managing virtual zoom productions as a host/operator and other event logistics. Daily Council events can take place during business hours, early morning, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all types of event logistics for major or special Council events as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director, Event Management and Operations. Responsibilities include working closely with programming departments in finalizing timelines, menu planning, room setups, and audio-visual needs as well as managing the events team in executing the major or special Council event.
  • Provide support on a variety of new and existing projects and challenges that come up, including rental marketing, rental accounting, and public space upkeep and maintenance.
  • Provide and uphold a courteous, positive, professional, and cooperative attitude with the staff, vendors, and guests by phone, email, and in person

Qualifications

  • Degree in hospitality, event management, communications, or marketing preferred
  • 4 or more years related experience; hotel/banquet, catering and/or corporate event experience strongly preferred
  • Strong administrative experience including the ability to manage multiple priorities on deadline
  • Outstanding customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Experience with virtual event platforms including Zoom or Webex
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • As this role is designated as essential personnel, the availability to work flexible hours upon request, including early mornings, late evenings, and during periods of inclement weather is required
  • Ability to lift tables and chairs when needed for last minute setup changes

Pay Range

$66,000 to $72,000 per year

Pay commensurate with experience and education
