Overview

All who are selected to participate in CFR’s Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning, and much more.

 

The Development department primarily coordinates and writes grant reports to several dozen CFR donors. The team is searching for an intern to support the work of the team through writing, reviewing, and proofreading several reports and track relevant information. The intern will also assist in donor prospecting efforts through various research projects.

 

CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis. 

 

CFR’s fall internship program gives interns the opportunity to choose whether to work in our office in a hybrid capacity (half in the office, and half remote), or on an offsite fully remote basis. 

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing grant reports to several major donors
  • Assist with foundation and individual donor prospect research as requests from various departments
  • Support the team with reviewing acknowledgments for Annual Fund gifts 
  • Assist with the writing and research to update existing proposals for various CFR projects

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student with a concentration in international relations, political science, nonprofit management, business, or related field
  • All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship)
  • Previous experience in fundraising, alumni relations, nonprofit management, or foundation relations preferred
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Pay Rate

$17.50 per hour
