Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director, Talent and Compensation position will oversee all aspects of talent for CFR, understanding the organization’s complexities and nuanced roles, requiring experience with several markets. This role will focus on organizational talent strategy and the processes and infrastructure to attract and retain top talent at all levels. The Director must have a blend of strong operational and creative problem-solving abilities. This role will be a crucial link in connecting strategic HR initiatives with the broader organizational goals of the CFR leadership team.

 

The Director, Talent and Compensation will manage a team of six talent professionals who are responsible for full-cycle recruitment and talent management. As CFR undergoes organizational changes, the Director will be responsible for rebuilding and developing the talent team through various methods. In addition, the Director will evaluate all current talent processes and systems for enhancements.

 

Another crucial part of the role of Director, Talent and Compensation will be to work closely with the CHRO and Director, Total Rewards on compensation management. The Director, Talent and Compensation will play a key role in managing a title and compensation study and supporting the rollout of a new structure in 2025. The Director will be to key point of contact for compensation data and will be crucial in compensation analysis and building that capability within CFR. The Director, Talent and Compensation will work collaboratively with the Director, Total Rewards for budgeting compensation increases and carrying out end of year raise processes.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage talent function including recruitment, talent review/succession planning, performance management
  • Work with talent team to increase sourcing and creative recruitment strategies, including pipelining and finding new ways to address niche markets
  • Collaborate with Director, HR Systems & People Analytics to create efficiencies with talent processes through enhanced workflows and technology; create talent dashboard using relevant metrics
  • Serve as right hand to CHRO through organizational design conversations with leaders
  • Help establish new job classification and promotion processes
  • Oversee employee relations directly and through talent team partnering with different teams
  • Design and develop the implementation of talent review processes and programs that support an emphasis on managerial competence and ultimately result in the creation of an internal bench of top talent, including succession planning
  • Collaborate with CHRO and Director, Total Rewardsto design and implement a competitive compensation program that aligns with organizational goals. Provide training to managers and staff around compensation best practices
  • Provide guidance to management on pay decisions and compensation policies
  • Lead compensation reviews for organization including job leveling, participating in annual compensation surveys, and conducting market research
  • Address compensation equity issues, should they arise
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10 + years of relevant experience
  • Must have prior experience with full-cycle recruitment, organizational design, talent review, employee relations, and compensation
  • Expertise with technical recruitment is required
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of relevant employment laws
  • Proven history of successful people management and mentoring
  • Must be comfortable leading presenting to leadership and training on recruitment, compensation, and talent related topics
  • Experience with the design and development of organization-wide talent systems and ability to create flexible programs to meet changing organization needs

Compensation and Benefits

  • The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 depending on experience.
