Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) fellowships offer unique, transformational opportunities for U.S. citizens with a demonstrated commitment to a career in foreign policy to gain experience in a new environment. Selected fellows broaden their perspective on foreign affairs by work in a policymaking setting, at CFR exploring a policy relevant issue, or overseas working at a company, think tank, or university.
The Fellowship Affairs department currently administers several visiting fellowship programs per year, including: The International Affairs Fellowship (IAF); Military Fellowship; Edward R. Murrow Press Fellowship; Historian-in-Residence Fellowship; Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship; and the Technologist-in-Residence Fellowship.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Director of Studies, and Maurice R. Greenberg Chair, CFR is seeking a Director, Fellowship Affairs who will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Fellowship Affairs program. This role is responsible for aligning Fellowship Affairs goals with the priorities of the Studies Program, managing staff, developing and executing long-term strategy, and ensuring operational excellence. The Director will serve as the principal liaison between internal and external stakeholders to promote the visibility and impact of the fellowship program.
